Road Directions to
Albayalde from
Malaga
Airport
via new Toll Toad (72 Km.)
Please
note that the N340 is being renamed the A7 so, if the N340 signs run out,
follow the A7 - it's the same road!
Reset your trip meter to zero before departure.
Leave the Airport Car Park via the exit (Salida)
and follow the signs to
Malaga
– Cadiz E15 – A7, at 0.8 Km go straight across the roundabout towards
Malaga Torremolinos and
Cadiz.
Stay on the right and pass the large San Miguel brewery on you right and take the slip road
to Torremolinos & Cadiz – A7 to join the dual carriageway.
At 3.5 Km follow the signs for Benalmadena & Algeciras
E15 – A7 and bear right onto the Autovia.
At 10.9 Km continue straight on towards Fuengirola & Algeciras DO NOT
turn off towards Benalmadena. At
18.7 Km get in the middle lane and follow the signs to Marbella Algeciras E15
– AP7. These signs are marked PEAJE
i.e. toll road, and is the start of the
Motorway (AP-7).
Slow down as you approach the Calahonda toll booths at Km
34.2, charges vary between about 3.75€ in low season to about 6.10€ in high
season. At 48.5 Km you will see a
large shopping mall called La Cañada on your right, rejoin the E15 - A7 - N340
to Marbella and Algeciras at this point and pass McDonalds Takeaway on your
left. At Km 54.7 get into the left
hand lane and follow the signs for A7 to San Pedro de Alcantara / Estepona
/ Algeciras.
DO NOT rejoin the Peaje Motorway to Estepona E15 – AP7.
At Km 59.2 pass a large department store El Corte Inglés on your left.
At San Pedro de Alcantara stay on the A7 and pass four sets of
traffic lights along the A7 (Note that there are plans to commence digging a
tunnel for the A7 under San Pedro to ease traffic congestion, but work has
not yet commenced).
Remain on the A7 passing the turn off for Benahavis.
At the turn off for Cancelada at Km 71.6 slow down and get in the right
hand lane but remain on the A7. At Km 71.8 turn right off the A7 by a small narrow road towards Guadalmansa
DIY Trade Warehouse and turn 90 deg left after 50m to parallel the A7.
Turn left under the A7 and follow the road back parallel to the A7
towards
Malaga
for 400m. (Note that this
underpass is not an official road and may not be possible in some vehicles,
particularly in winter when the river is in flood). Pass Casitas Classiques
office on your right then turn immediately right down towards the Playa del
Sol Hotel. Pass the Albayalde
Reception building on your left and turn immediately left into the
Urbanisation via the security barrier using your remote or magnetic key or
continue straight on for Calle Fragata properties on your left. Please
note that my car makes the journey just under 70 Km. so allow a bit of
flexibility in the detailed distances!

Take a Taxi from the Airport costing about 85€.
Ask for Albayalde/Villacana at A7 Km. 165 between San Pedro and
Estepona by the Cancelada turn off.

Catch the non stop bus from the Airport to
Marbella
costing about 4.30€. Buses run
about every hour in high season (Jul–Sep) and every two hours in low season
between
06:15
and
23:45.

Marbella
to Albayalde. If by bus get off at
the Cancelada bus stop and walk across the footbridge, this is not recommended
if you are carrying luggage!
Note:
There are no trains from the Airport suitable for Albayalde.
